SK Gaming player Marcelo «coldzera» David became the player of the year according to The Game Awards. He bypassed Lee «Faker» Sang-hyeok (League of Legends), Byun «ByuN» Hyun Woo (StarCraft II), Lee «Infiltrator» Seon Woo (Street Fighter V) and Juan «Hungrybox» Debiedma (Super Smash Bros).
