Fortnite leakers and data miners have recently uncovered details suggesting a potential collaboration with the popular horror franchise Saw. After the release of a new update on September 17, data miners began analyzing the files introduced with patch v31.20 and quickly found what appears to be a teaser for the upcoming Fortnitemares event.

Since Fortnite's Battle Royale mode launched in 2017, Epic Games has partnered with a wide array of video games, musicians, and movie franchises, offering players a wealth of in-game cosmetics and rewards. The most recent major collaboration came with Fortnite's Chapter 5 Season 4 update, which introduced a Marvel takeover, bringing new locations, skins, and a superhero-themed Battle Pass.

Despite being known as a family-friendly game, Fortnite already features plenty of spooky skins, and it seems even more horror-themed items could be on the way. Noted data miner Xgamer360 uncovered files that reference Saw, Lionsgate’s wildly popular horror franchise. While the exact release date of the collaboration is unclear, many speculate that these files are linked to the upcoming Fortnitemares event in October.

Fortnite x Saw Collaboration Leak

Soon after the latest Fortnite update dropped, data miners found a texture of Billy the Puppet, the iconic doll used by Jigsaw in the Saw franchise. Although the files don't specify when this texture will be used or how it will appear in-game, prominent leakers like ShiinaBR suggest that the Saw collaboration will likely debut during the next Fortnitemares event.

The last Fortnitemares event, held in 2023, featured popular characters from video games like Alan Wake and movies like Halloween. Although Epic Games has yet to officially announce Fortnitemares 2024, it’s highly likely that the event will follow previous years’ schedules, releasing in mid-October. Fans can expect the event to bring a host of new skins, challenges, and spooky surprises.

While Halloween-themed cosmetics are still a few weeks away, Fortnite's latest v31.20 update, released on September 17, introduced even more Marvel content. Players can now enjoy a new limited-time mode called "Day of Doom" and a fresh Iron Man skin, continuing the Chapter 5 Season 4 superhero theme with a wealth of new content.
