The $1 Xbox Game Pass promotion ends ahead of the Starfield release
Users of Xbox Game Pass have observed that the special offer allowing a 14-day Game Pass subscription for just $1/ €1/ £1 has vanished from the Microsoft Store over this weekend. This offer had been reintroduced in July.
Previously, this promotion was available for several months; however, in March, Microsoft decided to discontinue it, mentioning that they were "assessing various marketing campaigns for prospective new subscribers in the future."
Ilmaisia jalokiviä sekä päivittäisiä, viikoittaisia ja kuukausittaisia lisäpalkkioita!
This development has occurred only a few days before the early access launch date of the game Starfield, set for August 31 according to the US time zone.
The standard edition of Starfield, which is priced at $70 and encompasses the core game, will be made accessible through Xbox Game Pass.
Furthermore, the Digital Premium Edition and the $300 Constellation Edition will showcase the inaugural story expansion of the game, titled Shattered Space, along with the added benefit of up to five days of early access prior to Starfield's full release on September 6.
The cessation of the $1 Game Pass promotion just ahead of Starfield's launch aligns with Microsoft's decision to adjust Game Pass subscription prices.
Commencing from July 6, price adjustments took effect across most markets, with the exception of Norway, Chile, Denmark, Switzerland, and Saudi Arabia.
The monthly subscription fee for Xbox Game Pass on console was increased from $9.99 to $10.99 (£7.99 to £8.99/ €9.99 to €10.99). Additionally, the pricing for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate underwent an increase from $14.99 per month to $16.99 (£10.99 to £12.99/ €12.99 to €14.99).
